The Kamehameha Hawaii Summer School is accepting applications through today for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, bringing back the KSHSS High School program this year. The program runs from June 12-July 10.

The Kamehameha Hawaii Summer School is accepting applications through today for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, bringing back the KSHSS High School program this year. The program runs from June 12-July 10.

The Summer School Program offers a diverse curriculum for students attending Kamehameha Schools, public schools, charter schools and other private schools. Summer school is available to students entering grade 1-12 and incoming kindergarteners who are five years of age by June 12, 2013.

The K-8 Kula Kauwela (Summer School Program) offers a diverse curriculum giving learners an opportunity to demonstrate 21st century skills while engaging Hawaiian culture-based/place-based/project-based learning, while the high school summer schools offer credit courses. Tuition for summer school is $400 for full-day session or $200 for high school half-day session, with both including the price for lunch. Transportation is provided for an additional $100 fee.

Kamehameha Schools’ admissions policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law. If you would like to be considered under that policy, your Hawaiian ancestry must be verified by Kamehameha’s Ho‘oulu Hawaiian Data Center.
